What is death cover?

Death cover provides a lump sum benefit for your dependants if you pass away.

Terminal illness cover is included in your death cover, so you may be able to claim an advance payment of your benefit if you’re diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Death cover is provided automatically to many members of Equip Super.*

But if you don’t receive death cover automatically, you can still apply for cover. You can also change or cancel your existing cover at any time.

* If you’ve joined us through your employer, and your employer has nominated Equip Super as their default super fund.

Transferring your existing death cover into Equip Super

You may be able to transfer the death cover you have with another super fund or life insurer into your Equip MyFuture account.

Log in to Member Online to apply to transfer your cover or complete the Transfer your insurance cover to Equip form.

There are some important considerations to be aware of when transferring cover from another insurer. We recommend finding out a little more before you make the change.
